Part of a $300 million hospital master plan, this new state-of-the-art 18-bed ICU includes private waiting areas and conference rooms with a dedicated elevator to allow easy access from the ER to the imaging department. Corridors were designed with dimensional soffits and recessed lighting, and automatic and manual sliding glass doors. Each station was designed using natural cherry cabinetry to provide a more natural environment and a less “clinical” look. The large patient rooms were equipped with bedside computers and highly accessible equipment hookups at each bedside. Each room has a window providing natural light and a view of the garden. Specialized rooms required critical air balance to provide negative airflow.
