This utility-scale clean energy storage facility provides a critical solution to our clean energy transition. The ability to store clean energy (generated from AES PV solar installations) for periods of high demand adds flexibility and reliability to California’s power grid. Recently completed, PNG Builder’s provided site grading and construction of concrete pads to mount battery cubes and associated electrical control equipment including inverters and transformers. The scope also included construction of a fire access lane around the equipment pads and permanent fencing around the project site. Because the facility will be unoccupied, no potable water system or sanitary sewer system was needed. The completed BESS is a 127MW-4HR-508MWH system is serving utility companies like Clean Power Alliance and PG&E, and stores enough clean energy to power thousands and thousands of homes for up to four hours.
