URM Approaches Final Completion

Project Update | Union Rescue Mission’s Angeles House in Compton, CA, is quickly approaching closeout with the last finishing touches.

Family rooms are set to receive their final furnishings and decor, classrooms and learning spaces will be equipped with computers and books, landscaping has arrived, and dining and community halls will be given the last touches to help make sure future tenants feel like home. To ensure all their needs can be met in one location, Angeles House will provide doctor and dental offices, counseling, beauty/barber salon, day care facility, playground, education centers, reading room and full-service dining.

PNG Builders is beyond proud to play a part in the betterment of our local communities, truly living out our motto, “Building Value. Building Trust. Building People.” Angeles Home gives families the freedom to live in a safe environment while they have a chance to get back on their feet.

Donate Life

The PNG team got together this past weekend to help assemble OneLegacy’s “Donate Life” float, which will debut in the forthcoming Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. As an official sponsor of the float, PNG Builders had the opportunity to get a unique behind-the-scene perspective of what it takes to put these magnificent floats together. Though the floral arrangements are typically added a couple of days before the grand event, the PNG team specifically worked with affixing kidney beans, onion seeds, sesame seeds and corn husks to the float.

Senior Superintendent, Aaron Claypool, shared his experience: “It felt pretty cool being part of something big that provides value and meaning to the community.”

Over the last 15 months, PNG Builders has partnered with OneLegacy to build their new headquarters in Azusa. Next year, upon its completion, it will be the largest and most advanced organ recovery facility in the entire country.

PNG Builders Awarded Three ENR Awards

We are so proud of our teams who earned three honorable ENR awards on October 15 at the annual Best Regional Projects awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Out of nearly 100 projects submitted in California, Engineering News-Record recognized two PNG Builders projects:

The AES Corporation Alamitos BESS 100MW Project was awarded both BEST PROJECT OF THE YEAR and BEST ENERGY/INDUSTRIAL PROJECT. Located in Long Beach, California, this first-of-its-kind ground-up project allows California to set aside renewable energy, up to 400MWh worth, during peak hours, reducing the reliance on fossil fuels. This project will now move on to the next round where ENR will rank the Best of the Best Projects – to be announced early next spring!

Cedars-Sinai Ventana Cancer Care Clinic, received a MERIT AWARD in the Healthcare category. This beautiful 4-story medical building, located in Tarzana, brought needed enhanced medical care and oncology services to the surrounding community. The overall design throughout evokes togetherness, tranquility and healing with the use of natural and soft-glow lighting. We are honored to share this award with our partners at ZGF Architects.

We are incredibly thankful to our team for their outstanding work on these projects! Congratulations to a job well done.

One Legacy Topping Out Ceremony

On Wednesday, July 28th, OneLegacy celebrated the last steel beam to be set in place, connecting the upcoming organ donor recovery facility to the adjacent four-story parking structure. The day was commemorated with special words delivered by Tom Mone - CEO of OneLegacy, Prasad Garimella – COO of OneLegacy, Cynthia Maraman Perley - Executive Management of One Legacy, Robert Gonzales - Azusa Mayor, Steve Mathison - President of PNG Builders, Picasso Bhowmik - Vice President of PNG Builders, among others. The beam was signed by owner, LA architects, PNG Builders general contracting project team, City of Azusa members and guests. MRI Replacement

Delivering top notch healthcare and treatments to our community could be argued as one of the most essential jobs out there. Staying at the forefront of new, cutting-edge technology, is standard protocol for all of our healthcare clients.

Here, riggers are seen carefully removing an old MRI unit through an MRI Core Skylight at a local Southern Californian hospital. Weighing roughly 12,130 pounds and working with a meager 2” of clearance, this MRI is delicately hoisted through the skylight via crane. The replacement will be a new Siemens Sola MRI, which will provide the highest quality scans and diagnostic services to the community.
