Joseph Caywood

From an early age, Joseph was enamored by construction sites and building things. As soon as he was old enough, he joined a residential framing crew and spent his summers working in construction. Upon graduating high school, Joseph enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served his country as a Combat Engineer and developed key skills including leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability that guide his management style today. Joseph went on to Missouri State University where he graduated with a Construction Management degree, driven by a desire to understand how to build and schedule projects from the field level. In a short time, Joseph was promoted to Superintendent with a national ENR top General Contractor; by staying in the field, Joseph sharpened his leadership skills, applying new tactics in Lean construction.

Joseph met his wife Michaela while working in Colorado as a Superintendent. Within a year of long-distance courting, he moved to California to take the next step in his personal and professional life. Joseph joined a large construction firm in Southern California taking a milestone step working in the office. As Senior Project Engineer with this company, he showed more skills and promise, and in less than a year was promoted to a Project Manager position.

Joseph likes to say he was recruited by Picasso Bhowmik to join PNG; however, Joseph will admit he is driven by problem-solving. There is no better company to find those exciting challenges than here at PNG, as the projects are unique and often require advanced coordination. Joseph sees construction operations holistically as he strives to utilize what he likes to call the Caywood three C’s: “Communicate, Coordinate, & Collaborate.” This effort takes the field, office, client, and design team and unifies the project for success.

In his free time, Joseph is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys sitting in a tree stand while watching the sunrise. He feels that nothing is more peaceful than being one with nature and getting away from today’s modern technology. Joseph also prioritizes spending time with his family. He and Michaela are excited to start the next chapter of their lives with their son and hope to grow their family in the years to come.

Joseph is proud to be part of the PNG family. He is excited to build upon the legacy of PNG by bringing in a new generation to continue building the future success of the company.
