Gina Rifino-Bockhold never planned to be an accountant, but now she wouldn’t trade it for the world. Growing up Gina dreamed of living on a ranch, riding horses and practicing veterinary medicine. She had no idea that when, early in her career, she accepted a position as Project Cost Accountant for a general contractor in Orange County, she would be discovering a profession and calling that would change the course of her life!

Today, Gina describes the path of her accounting career as “unconventional.” She went into her first job with no professional experience or training. Ever adaptable, Gina learned on the job, discovering that accounting was her future and deciding to pursue a formal degree in the field. She attributes part of her career success to her professional, personal, and spiritual mentors and motivators that have guided and encouraged her throughout her career – a list at the top of which are her sisters and daughters.

Gina received her BA in Accounting from California State University Fullerton, while serving in various accounting positions with small businesses. She served five years as a Controller in Manufacturing, then joined a CPA Firm where she worked for eleven years in Accounting & Tax, taking on corporate, partnership, and individual clients. During this time she also began consulting and contracting with small businesses on their accounting processes and financials, and she continues the work to this day. Gina is proud to have been with PNG since 2019, offering her skills and experience as Controller. She is a licensed Federal & State Tax Preparer registered with the IRS and is a proud member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

Gina enjoys being a part of the PNG team because of the variety of work she’s able to accomplish and the collaboration opportunities it offers. She views her work as both challenging and rewarding, and is proud to say that she hasn’t experienced a single day of boredom! She appreciates being at PNG because of the company’s dedication to employee growth and the ability to set one’s own path. Having been in accounting and finance for most of her career, Gina understands and takes very seriously the level of trust required for her work, and she is honored to have developed a reputation of integrity at PNG.

In her free time, Gina enjoys spending time with her family. She’s enthusiastic about health and wellness and loves traveling, reading, gardening, and enjoying music and concerts. At work, Gina prioritizes teamwork, instruction by example, accountability, integrity, and empathy – making her an excellent professional in accounting & finance. Her peers appreciate her calm and resourcefulness, as well as her detail-orientation, reliability, and determination.
