Project Milestone | Foundations Poured at Armenian American Museum

Project Milestone | SoCal is known for its perfect year-round weather, however, yesterday had a brief but decent burst of rainfall and hail. Thankfully, in spite of the forecast, Glendale was spared and it turned out to be the perfect day for pouring concrete - 600 cubic yards, in fact.

With foundations poured and cured, the team presses on towards the slab pour for the future Armenian American Museum.

Congressman Adam Schiff Visits Armenian American Museum Job Site

Today, United States Congressman Adam Schiff, visited our Armenian American Museum project in Glendale to view construction progress.

Adam was accompanied by PNG Builders Project Executive, Vince Arriola, and superintendent, Craig Huberty. AAM’s Executive Team on site included Executive Chairman Berdj Karapetian, Executive Vice Chairman Zaven Kazazian, and Executive Director Shant Sahakian.

Earlier this month, the AAM project team also received the honorable visit of Glendale City Council members, Glendale Mayor Paula Devine, Ara Najarian, Vrej Agajanian, Ardy Kassakhian, and Daniel Brotman.

Upcoming milestones for this project include concrete pour for the footings and foundation of the parking structure and museum.

Project Flashback | Davis Core Imaging Project

Project Flashback | Ten years ago, PNG Builders completed the Davis Core Imaging project for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Partnered with Zakian Woo Architects, this project encompassed the latest imaging research design concept and state-of-the-art technological equipment of its time. Located in the Davis Building, the complex remodel included transforming the existing space into new catheterization laboratories, electrophysiology laboratories, exam rooms, and support spaces.

Today, PNG Builders continues to build our medical portfolio with our valued clients and partners. We perform in and around existing facilities that are fully occupied with medical staff and patients. Our crews are accustomed to working in environments with regimented zero dust requirements, noise restrictions, confined spaces, and precarious scheduling requirements. We take the necessary steps to ensure patient safety and manage strict infection control procedures – all while minimizing interruptions to the daily operations of our client’s facilities.

Project Update | Fallbrook Energy Project

Project Update | Midweek progress at our 40MW SDG&E-Fluence Energy project in Fallbrook, CA: Equipment foundations are getting poured, excavation and installation of the electrical underground are well underway, forming of the blast wall and underground electrical at the substation, as well as delivery of half of the batteries for the 40MW battery energy storage system (BESS).

The project was announced back in 2018 and commissioned late last year after a pause surrounding the pandemic. PNG Builders is proud to say we are on track for an early summer turnover! Once completed, this energy facility will provide reliable grid support services to the local community.

A joint project by Fluence and SDG&E.

Project Update | Armenian American Museum

Project Update | The team over in Glendale is hard at work completing grading for Phase 1 of the Armenian American Museum. After pad certification has been received, the team will move forward on footing layout and excavation.

Thanks to the PNG project team and our partners over at ADEI Grading and AES Soils, we will begin laying out the foundation for subterranean parking below the two-story Armenian American Museum in the coming weeks!

URM Approaches Final Completion

Project Update | Union Rescue Mission’s Angeles House in Compton, CA, is quickly approaching closeout with the last finishing touches.

Family rooms are set to receive their final furnishings and decor, classrooms and learning spaces will be equipped with computers and books, landscaping has arrived, and dining and community halls will be given the last touches to help make sure future tenants feel like home. PNG Builders is beyond proud to play a part in the betterment of our local communities, truly living out our motto, “Building Value. Building Trust. Building People.” Angeles Home gives families the freedom to live in a safe environment while they have a chance to get back on their feet.

Donate Life

The PNG team got together this past weekend to help assemble OneLegacy’s “Donate Life” float, which will debut in the forthcoming Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. As an official sponsor of the float, PNG Builders had the opportunity to get a unique behind-the-scene perspective of what it takes to put these magnificent floats together. Though the floral arrangements are typically added a couple of days before the grand event, the PNG team specifically worked with affixing kidney beans, onion seeds, sesame seeds and corn husks to the float.

Senior Superintendent, Aaron Claypool, shared his experience: “It felt pretty cool being part of something big that provides value and meaning to the community.”

Over the last 15 months, PNG Builders has partnered with OneLegacy to build their new headquarters in Azusa. Next year, upon its completion, it will be the largest and most advanced organ recovery facility in the entire country.
