The Project Scheduler performs various functions, which primarily involves providing expertise in the area of project controls, scheduling, and schedule analysis; earned value management and construction activities in support of construction projects. This position works closely with project management teams to develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules of construction projects, and supports the project management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects.

Job Description:

  • Creates/prepares project schedules pertaining to the project execution plan
  • Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports: Gantt, milestone charts, and other tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work, priority-based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost/schedule integration
  • Work in collaboration with project management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting
  • Training of Foremen, Superintendents & Project Manager to learn, or increase skills in, project scheduling company wide
  • Analyze construction schedules and schedule improvement ideas, providing critical path analyses, identifying problem areas and creating work-around solutions; perform analyses of Critical Path and Earned Value
  • Visit project site(s) for progress reporting
  • Advise Project Manager of change orders with schedule impact
  • Collect and analyze data
  • Develop, report, and manage data for portfolio of assigned projects
  • Determine staffing needs and supplies
  • Develop timetables for projects; monitor progress on projects and meet deadlines
  • Review contractor’s schedule progress and submit report to management for approval; prepare summary reports, as needed
  • Validate contractors’ project schedule accuracy
  • Maintain critical path analysis and reporting deviations against the master schedule
  • Responsibility for project and program contingency planning
  • Actively participate in identifying scheduling process improvements
  • Ability to read and interpret RFPs, RFIs, etc.; engage in change order negotiations
  • Communicates schedule status on a regular basis via formal and informal meetings and reports
  • Assisting with identifying out-of-scope work items and creating change order requests to be presented to client
  • Ability to integrate a master schedule with a multitude of projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in construction management and/or engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of construction project scheduling experience; experience with time impact analysis
  • Advanced experience in Primavera Scheduling Software and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible schedule to work at multiple sites
  • Time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Solid analytical skills to collect and interpret data
  • Proficiency in understanding blueprints and contracts
